nice place serving both ramen and appetizers. both locations have both menus so it doesn't matter where you sit. but we sat at the ramen side downstairs which had a nice open seating. several unique twists here are tasty like the bacon mochi and hush puppies takoyaki we did a reservation of their website

This review is for the Izakaya portion of the restaurant. Wow...just wow. Such a completely delightful experience is so rare lately that I was utterly blown away. The food, drinks, service, and ambiance were so completely on point that there was literally nothing to complain about. There was a comfortable rhythm to the placement and removal of dishes that I felt like it was a performance of some kind. Clearly every detail of the dining experience was being looked at with a discerning eye by whoever runs this establishment. From the moment we walked in and had our vaccine status checked (which made us feel safe) from the time we left it felt purposeful and perfect. Thank you Dashi for a wonderful experience!

10/10 we live 2 hours away and we still think it’s 100% worth it. My server was Xenia and afterward the bartender/ manager (he didn’t specify, but he seemed like one) was so nice to me and understood that I’m the type of customer who only cares... not a complainer the ramen ahhhhh so good better than anything ever. I’m so happy I was recommended this place by a TOTAL STRANGER well strangers really. GREAT JOB CHEF! Austin and Xenia thank you for your hospitality.

We ate here before a show at DPAC. I expected it to be busy and to wait a while for our food, but we got a table right away and the food came out quickly. Everything was delicious and the staff was very attentive and conscientious. I would definitely eat here again. The fried cauliflower was my favorite!

Dashi Ramen is a gem in downtown Durham, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere perfect for a casual meal. The space is charming, with a warm, intimate vibe that makes you feel right at home. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming experience. Sitting at the bar gave me a front-row seat to the action, where I watched my meal being freshly prepared. Everything was made from scratch, and the attention to detail was clear in every bite. The food itself was fantastic—rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and fresh ingredients that elevated the dish. Despite the lunchtime rush, my order came out quickly without sacrificing quality. If you’re in Durham and craving top-notch ramen with great service, Dashi is absolutely worth a visit!

A Durham must! The ramen is so good and well priced! There is only one vegetarian option and it’s good. The appetizers and house-made drinks were delicious, as well! Seating can be a bit limited but when we went on a weekday night there was no wait although a large group might have a harder time. Overall, a fantastic experience!

Fantastic ramen, gluten free noodles were yummy. Cauliflower is next level! Musubi was nostalgic, used to live in Hawaii and it took me back. Love the vibe! Everything we had was yummy!
